Back to Leigh-on-Sea and family life with the Strongs! Full English breakfast then time in the sun in the garden! Yay! The flowers are blooming and lavender full of bees…Enjoyed  one of Roseanne’s legendary roast chicken dinners outside!

Arrriverderci Positano and Italy….spent the day at Hotel Marincanto swimming and lunching before transferring back to Naples Airport and flying to Stansted in the UK where Roseanne picked me up very late at night! 

Roseanne arrives without her family for a ‘girls’ getaway!!!  Lovely Mediterranean lunches, swimming at Sponda beach, Dinner at Brunos, Shopping in Positano, delicious fresh anchovies, squid, prawns and vegetables at Da Vincenza, the day at Da Adolfos, Roseannes first bikini in a while and lots of talking and laughing as usual!

Ruth and Elly-Kate arrived for a lovely few days in Positano and an unexpected night out at the very funky “Music on the Rocks” nightclub where somehow I ended up as well ???

The view from my terrace is perfect….Farewell dinner for Leigh and Shane at La Cambusa. “What is the time Leigh??”….Visitors..Catherina and her Mum! 

Limoncello… Icy cold Lemon Granita…Fresh fish fillets in limone…’giant’eating lemons…fresh lemon juice…limoncello gelato…lemons painted on ceramic ware…lemon trees and lemon groves full of hanging lemons…mozzarella in Lemon leaves…

Caught the ferry to Amalfi and then took a local Sita bus ride up the mountain to Ravello. Cappuccino in the pretty square and then visited the Duomo and Giardini Villa Rufolo with its pretty gardens. We walked through town to explore the Gardens of Villa Cimbrone where the “terrace of infinity” provided an incredible vista of the Amalfi coastline.

Floyd is leaving to continue his European adventures…next stop sailing the Croatian coast! Each day the entry to our apartment from the street is decorated with items from the little antique store across the road!

Took a slow boat along the coast stopping to swim in caves, grottos and bays and taking in the sights of villas, terraced gardens and villages as far as Atrani. We then had a ‘full’ Italian style lunch at Da Therese..Antipasta including fresh anchovies which I actually ate…pasta, swordfish main, salad, fruit and dolce (dessert) followed by limoncello and cafe macchiato! So full!!!! Lounged on the pebble beach and swam in the beautiful waters before coming home!

Continued from Pompeii to the smaller and perhaps better preserved site of Herculaneum…fascinating! Then a storm hit  as we were driving up to Mt Vesuvius but we were allowed to climb to the summit
