Polecats weekend in Kiama…8th-11th November 2013

Karen and I drove to Newcastle and stayed with Caroline for the night and of course caught up with Baz!Image Convoyed down to the South Coast with Caroline and Bronwyn to rendezvous with Ann, Jo and Mez to spend a wonderful weekend at John and Stella Dennis’s Kiama beach house. Lots of bubbles  and laughs accompanied Bron’s Butter Chicken for dinner.ImageImageAnn excelled herself with a beautiful breakfast before we explored part of the coastal walk and braved the ‘brisk’ waters of the rock pool, sampled the flat whites, viewed the panorama from Saddleback Mountain, checked out the ‘little’ and ‘big’ blowholes and found some exceptional coffee at “The brooding Italian”. This set the scene for sharing my favourite Italian aperitivo, Aperol Spritz! Dinner was fresh and flavoursome with Vietnamese cuisine at “Hanoi on Manning”. Sunday saw a cool wet southerly change and Mez’s gourmet breakfast tarts, fruit platter and pancakes! Yes, we experience the pleasure of food a great deal on these weekends! After some shopping in the rain at Berry we had lunch at Berry Sourdough Cafe! More drinks with dinner followed by “Balderdash” for some and “Luther” on the ABC for others. These gatherings of girlfriends from Wauchope High School are very special!ImageImageImageImageImageImageImageImageImageImageImageImageImageImageImageImageImageImage

Thelma and Louise…

My new ‘babies’ two female miniature Dachschunds are now ensconced in my home…Thelma and Louise are settling in very nicely and have even spent a weakend at Aunty Leigh and Uncle Shane’s house with cousin Womby…they seem to like the beach as well!ImageImageImageImageImageImage
